Stress is unhealthy. This is a fact.
It can also kill. Hence, it is something we should not ignore at all. We have heard it before, and we will keep hearing it over and over again until the end of time. Not because we haven’t learned our lesson as yet (or perhaps we haven’t, really), but because it is something everyone deals with every single day.
Speaking of which, you may not be aware of the following signs of emotional stress, which you (and all of us) should watch out for:
You lack energy
Everything you do takes more effort than usual. You drag yourself from bed; you don’t want to go to work, see your friends or deal with anything or anyone else. In short, you don’t have the strength to do what must be done because you easily get tired and sometimes, you cannot explain why.
You often get sick
Emotional stress or any form of stress makes you sick often. We know someone who used to drag herself to work due to emotional stress, and it wasn’t pretty. She was also sickly, as if everything about her hurts almost always, which affected her work performance.
You are moody
You get upset easily, and you cannot explain why you are taking everything on everyone else for no reason. This is not a good sign because it is not anybody’s fault why you are stressing too much emotionally.
Are you going through any or all of these signs? If you are, it is time to do something about it. Relax, take a break, speak to your family and friends and let them know what you are going through. In some cases, it may also help to seek professional help. Remember that emotional health is no less important than any other aspect of your health and well-being.
