4 Ways To A Better Alone Time

Time is important.

We need it for work, to be with friends, to live. Most importantly, we need it to spend time with ourselves. Why? We have always believed that you can only give something of yourself if you are not drained.

How to do it better? These are our suggestions:

Treat your morning right

Wake up each day with a smile on your face by not relying too much on your phone to start your day. Don’t use your mobile phone as an alarm clock. Buy a traditional one instead. When the first thing you do is check your phone in the morning, you are more likely to check your social media accounts as well as your work emails. Instead of doing this, set aside a time for yoga, a good breakfast, and a good shower. Consider these simple activities your alone time and enjoy them, too. When you are not in a rush, you feel more calm and secure, and you perform at work better without running out of energy.

Read something good

It is food for the soul and the spirit. Learning, after all, is good for everyone and one of the best ways to do this is by reading books, magazines and everything else under the sun. Set a time to read and do not let anyone disturb you. It doesn’t have to be long; the important thing is to just spend your time reading, by yourself, with a cup of coffee or tea. Enjoy and maximize each second.

Pamper yourself

Schedule it and follow through. If you are not good at scheduling it, do it spontaneously and choose any day and time every week. Do it alone. It is good to have company but spending time with yourself is just as important and revitalizing if not more so. It gives you a chance to reconnect with yourself and to revisit your thoughts. Mind you; it feels really good, too.

Appreciate life

Every little thing we receive is a blessing. Learn to appreciate it. Appreciate life and the chance to live and discover who you are. When you are grateful, you have a deeper understanding of who you are within yourself and with the people you care about. This way, you can give more to yourself and others.

Spend time with yourself and savor each moment. You deserve it. Remember, a dry well does no good to anybody, not even yourself.
