Happiness Is Not A Goal

Searching for happiness is a fatal mistake.

We say this because we often forget that happiness can be had right in front of us. We don’t have to look for or search further. Joy is as simple as appreciating the little things we have in life. It is love for family members. It is a smile from a stranger, an unexpected help, the sun rising. It is anything and everything good.

It is heartbreaking that most people still think that happiness is something you look for when in fact, it is something that is already a part of who we are, what is left to do is recognize it in every little thing each day.

If we make it a lifelong goal to search for happiness, our life will be but happy. Stop. Live life to the fullest. Seize every moment and spend quality time with your friends and loved ones. Happiness is simplicity. It is embracing what and who you are regardless of what others think. It is doing the best that you can in every situation you are in. It is looking forward instead of behind, and it is letting go instead of holding on the past and to grudges.

Don’t look for happiness in others or great achievements. Love what you do and follow your passion. When you do this, you are making your version of happiness, and it is something nobody can dampen nor take away from you.

Start with making a self-assessment of what you want to happen and then work towards that goal. You can only be happy if you do things because you want to and not because it is what everyone expects from you.

Enough time has been wasted. Begin living before life runs out and it becomes too late. Most importantly, live it according to your rules.
