“I heard a definition once: Happiness is health and a short memory! I wish I’d invented it, because it is very true.” — Audrey Hepburn
Happy is something we want to be.
Unfortunately, happy is precisely what we aren’t, and we are aware of this, whether we admit it or not, most of the time, at least.
Happiness is seemingly elusive, and people are becoming more and more short-tempered as time goes by. This is why most of us are unhealthy, and we have no idea about it. Once again, this is unfortunate.
We say happiness means health because when you are happy, you will be more inspired to work on your health, to eat food that is right for you. In short, you will be more inclined to take care of yourself and look after your needs.
Another factor that helps one to stay healthy and be on top of one’s game is having a short memory – not in a sense that we forget what matters but bad feelings, anger, grudges and all things negative. When we do this, we will have more peace and happiness in life.
It is not always easy because our default, most of us, is to hold on to anger and grudges for as long as possible. This is not only hindering us in having something good, such as friendship and opportunities, this is also hindering us in becoming a better version of who we are. Letting go of grudges means welcoming happiness and paving the way to a healthier you.
Decide to be happy and be the best you can be and then work on being healthy, as healthy as you will ever be. You see, staying healthy and fit may take hard work, but when you are happy and carefree, it is something you can do easily.
