The truth? We all want to have a good life, and we do what we can to make it happen. Sometimes, however, we fail in the  attempt for reasons beyond our control or for excuses we make and believe to be valid.

Let us forget excuses and do our best to elevate the quality of our life by following these practical tips:

Stay away from negative people
The first step you need to take is staying away from negative people. It is like pruning your garden; you remove the weeds to give room to flowers and vegetables to grow. The same way with people and the ones we spend a lot of our time with, such as friends and family, we need people who help us be positive and add value to our lives and dreams. The sooner we remove them from our lives, or we remove ourselves from them, the better.

Master the art of saying no
There is a reason we say yes to people, and there is a reason we say no. More often than not, we agree to something even when we want to say no. If you want to change your life for the better, you have to be firm in your conviction. Stop thinking about pleasing everybody because, at the end of the day, you can’t. Do what your heart tells you. Say yes if you mean to and say no if you mean to. You will feel better and happier this way.

Follow your passion
Do what you want and what would make you happier. You don’t have to quit your job right now if you are not ready to but this does not mean you cannot follow your passion with a full-time job. If you have to take photographs after hours or cover a  wedding on weekends, go ahead and do it. Following your passion does not only make you happier, it also leads to more  opportunities, which you can explore later on.

Clear your mind
Find peace by not paying attention to negative people and things. What you can do is focus on the positive, clear your mind of can’t and other things that are affecting your confidence and quality of life. Most importantly, believe in what you can do and have faith that life will get better and better as days go by.

Dream big
We know you want to achieve great things and reach new highs. You can do this. Start with dreaming big and acting bigger. What you want to do may be challenged but be steadfast in your dreams and be focused on making them a reality.

Life does not have to be perfect to be wonderful!
