Making a living and making a life.

These are two different things often interchanged. Either that or one is forgotten. Unfortunately, more often than not, what’s forgotten is making a life.

This is because the focus often becomes making a living, everything else about making a life set aside and forgotten. We can understand the need to make a living, however, it is for this reason that a lot of things are taken for granted.

Making a living should mean that you make sure you have enough food on the table, roof above your head and can afford the necessity of the daily life. It means you don’t have to worry about what you are going to eat the next meal because you have already worked for it in advance. In short, you have a stable job, a home and a comfortable way of living even when you cannot afford every whim you may have.

It is not bad to want to succeed and dream of big things but it must also not be forgotten that there are things far more important in life and they are not material things.

Making a life is something we want to do, to settle, to be happy, to be who we are and explore. There is beauty in simplicity, and making a life that is quiet, peaceful and rich in love and care is the ultimate dream. Most of the time, when one already made a great living, it becomes harder and harder to make a life.

If you choose to make a life, making a living will follow. If the situation is reverse, you might forget the importance of living a life that is full of happiness, excitement, love and adventure. This means you would miss out on a lot of simple things that makes someone and a family happy and whole.

We have to remember that in everything we do, regardless of the reason, it is important to choose wisely and listen to one’s heart.
