“Aim for the moon. If you miss, you may hit a star.” —W. Clement Stone
Bigger dreams, biggest challenges.
At a young age, most of us were taught to dream big, to work hard, to be the best we can be. We were pressured and pushed harder than we would like or ought to be. We were reminded how hard life is, and expectations were set so high it was almost impossible to see the end of it. Then we became adults.
We still dream big dreams, bigger even, but we are also full of doubts and hesitation to make them happen. We doubt our abilities, our talents, our own self. Worse, we question who we are.
This is the same reason we don’t overthink (or we should not) things; we just let things be. We have no reason to forget about our dreams, even when we have to delay it sometimes. In fact, here are the reasons why we should dream bigger:
You have nothing to lose
So much to gain, nothing to lose. Dream, dare to make them as big as you possibly can. When you have goals, you are motivated and will be more than willing to do the hard work to make your dreams come true.
You will learn more
Goals are not just goals to reach or records to break. They are also lessons that you will have to learn and earn the hard way. It will all be worth it in the end, however.
You can’t fail
It is not that you will not fail, it is just that you see failure and falling as a learning experience, a lesson that may be difficult but necessary. Dreaming big has its perks even before you are halfway through your destination.
You deserve it
Yes, you do. Do not let any challenge make you think otherwise. Ignore the negativity others throw at you. You deserve to be successful, and you know it deep down, even when you doubt yourself sometimes. You don’t have to flaunt your big dreams; you only have to work hard, be flexible and be yourself.
You have what it takes
You have gone through a lot, and you are still kicking butt. That speaks a lot about you. It means you have what it takes to do the impossible, to make bigger dreams attainable. Never forget, you are meant to do great things and more.
Keep dreaming, even when they are not easy to achieve, or if it is seemingly impossible. The bigger they are, the better because even when you don’t exactly get where you want to be, or reap what you want, you will still be somewhere great.
Do you agree or disagree?
