Good and loyal employees are hard to come by.
This is why some people go the extra mile to appreciate their employees to make them feel loved and of course, highly valued and appreciated. Sometimes, it is a trip to a fancy place for the entire company and other times; it is a simple dinner or a whopping bonus for everybody.
It does not matter whether you have tons of money to splurge on your people or you have too little, what’s important is that you appreciate the hard work they do, and you know what? It is more than enough.
To show your staff how much you appreciate their talent and contribution, you may want to try the following:
A simple thank you note
A personal note or an email will do. Letting your staff know you acknowledge their hard work is more than enough. You can make it fun or serious, so long as you get the message across. The difference it will make in their morale and confidence is huge.
Schedule an appreciation event
When I was still part of the corporate world, we would hold a monthly recognition program. It is nothing fancy, we print our own certificates and buy a few boxes of pizza. The CEO would say a few words, hand out the certificates and we are done. Simple as it may be, everyone is happy and excited to get back to work the next day. It is also a time to catch up with each other without the pressure of work.
Have a team building
Team building is always great. It creates a bond between employees and employer. When you go on a team building or an excursion, you show the other side of you to your employees, and you will also discover how fun it is. A day away from the office is a great way to show your appreciation for the hard work, time and sacrifice your people make to make your company a success.
Remember, you don’t have to do something super fancy or expensive, you just have to show you genuinely care.
