Do You Want To Stand Up For Yourself? It’s About Time!

Strength becomes you.

We want to stand up for ourselves, but in most cases, we fail to do so. Sad and frustrating, isn’t it? It sure is, but if you feel you are the only one not able to do it all the time, you are wrong. Everyone has struggles and while we all deal with them differently, if there is one thing we all want, it is to be able to stand up for ourselves.

How do we do that exactly?

Be honest.

When you are honest all the time, you know you have nothing to worry about because, at the end of the day, you are only telling the truth. That matters a lot. You hide behind the truth, which is, on any given day, a powerful alley. Not that you are preparing for something worse, just that you have decided, to be honest, and transparent in everything you do. That, in itself, speaks volume.

Get the facts.

Believe it or not, not everyone is out to get you. So when you hear something, do not launch an attack blindly. Get all the facts. For you all you know, it is just a misunderstanding or humor created by some people who are really out to get you. Do not let your emotions run the course. Remember that there are always two sides of the story. Find out the truth with a level head and then if necessary, take action.

Value your time.

You have to. Otherwise, no one ever will. I used to work for a guy who never, ever values anyone’s time. He would ask for a meeting and either never arrive or get in 3 hours later. It was a pain! I knew he was the employer but he really did not have any respect for anyone’s time then he would wonder why nothing ever gets done. But that is over now. When someone does not arrive on time, I just leave. Why? Because I made an effort to be on time, I expect everyone else to do the same. It is a form of respect to myself, to my time and to what I do.

Never let anyone question your worth.

You are worthy to be loved and anything good the world has to offer. If someone says you are not worthy, it is not your problem. Whoever cares for you would know your value and will not question it no matter what. Believe in what you can do, and know that you can do great things and achieve whatever you set your mind to. If others don’t believe it, it is alright. You don’t have to prove yourself to others; you only have to prove to yourself that you matter and that is more than enough.

Take baby steps.

This will take a lot of practice, so take small steps every day until it becomes a habit. Do not force yourself to change overnight, it may or may not happen. What’s important right now is that you are ready to take matters into your hands.

Do you think you can do it and begin standing up for yourself? Of course, you can! Let us know your thoughts in the comment section.
