It is the bane of our existence.
Negativity. It dampens our day, and it certainly ruins the mood. When you feel negative, it affects your motivation, your drive, and your entire day. Now, we can’t have that, can we?
So how do we become immune to negativity? Let’s try the following:
React with no reaction.
Sure, it is easier said than done because we have the tendency to react to whatever we hear against us, or how a friend is feeling towards us. Sometimes, it is how we are; we react to anything and everything. The best thing to do? Don’t. Most especially when it does not involve you, or it is something that would not do you any good. Let people talk. Mind your own business and happiness. It gets easier over time, although admittedly, it is a challenge at first, but you will get used to it. Remember; do not dignify negativity with a response.
Focus on what matters.
You know what is important and what isn’t. Negativity definitely does not make it to the list. Focus on what you need to do and accomplish. Be grateful for every little blessing; be thankful for your family and friends. Most of all, make the most out of each day doing something productive. Follow your passion. When you focus on what matters, you have no time for negativity.
Love yourself for who you are.
Sometimes, this is a tall order simply because we often see the negative, our flaws and shortcomings. We overlook our courage, our innate kindness, and beauty, our will, persistence, and patience. We forget we were born to achieve greatness and while we are not perfect, we are enough and that is all that matters. When you love and accept yourself for who you are, you spend no time for negativity.
