Extraordinary is what we were born to be.
We all know that from the onset. Unfortunately, most of us settle for the ordinary. It is the reason very few have succeeded in breaking barriers and making a difference. Admittedly, some of us are happy where they are, and that is okay. Some people, on the other hand, stay ordinary but ache to be something else.
If you want to reach something higher than the star and be more than you are, you may try to do some or all of the following:
Know yourself and what you want.
What do you want to achieve? How do you want it to happen? When do you want it to happen? How much can you handle and what are you willing to do? Most of all, why do you want it to happen? Take note that the key to achieving what you want is in knowing yourself and what sets your soul on fire. Once you figure this out, you will stop at nothing until you have achieved what you want and you have answered your why.
Celebrate success with grace and deal with failure the same way.
Small or big successes count. Embrace them with grace, celebrate them and be grateful for small wins. You can be proud of your achievements and be modest at the same time. In the same manner, you will make mistakes, and things may not work on your first try. It is okay. Learn from both your success and your failure. Both can be teachable moments, and you should take advantage of that. Do not be too hard on yourself when things don’t work your way. The important thing is you do not give up and you keep trying until you get there.
Work as hard as you can, then harder.
We often hear that nothing worth having comes easy and it is true on all account. If you know what you want, you will find out how to get there. You will make it happen and you will work as hard as you can until it does. When you are on the verge of giving up, work harder. You will discover how much you are capable of when things are almost impossible. Keep going.
You are meant to be great and you should not expect anything less. Set yourself up for success and it will happen. When you don’t settle, you are willing to do what it takes to be extraordinary. After all, extraordinary people do not rest on their laurels; they look for more and find more.
We hope this helps in bringing out the extraordinary you. Comments welcome.
